OYB – OWN Your Balance is a sports brand made out of passion for being active. Our products are built on experience of people that like to push their bodies and improve their health, fitness and mental health. People who are looking for balance in their workout, their activities and their life.

Our story

Robert, a recreational cyclist and entrepreneur with a passion for innovation, has always blended his personal interests with business projects. With decades of experience building successful brands, he’s dedicated his passion project, OYB, to creating specialised products based on functionality and durability. His cycling journey began in 1978 and fuels his commitment to designing optimised products that prioritise practicality over fashion.

Our goal is to offer products that are primarily functional, robust and brutally efficient. Drawing from our own experience in creating optimised designs, we focus on building long-lasting and sustainable products that serve their owners for years to come.

"Whenever I cycled I carried my house or car keys, documents, some protein bars and a mobile phone. My back pockets got sweaty so I always put everything in a plastic bag. I searched for minimalistic bags online but found them all over-designed heavy or complicated to use. Many required me to dismount the bike to access documents or a phone and some were so fiddly to remove during stops or when fixing the bike on a car rack. A similar problem arose when climbing mountains; my phone in the interior jacket pocket got sweaty. I created a prototype for myself but soon colleagues and bike partners were keen to have one. This led to the creation of Genesis. It soon became clear that for shorter training sessions smaller bags were needed so Buddy was born."
